A Personal Note
For many of us, Thanksgiving is about looking back and being thankful for all the good things that happened to us in the past year. When I look back, I find many things to be thankful for.

I am thankful to the levee system and all the people involved in building and maintaining it.  If it wasn’t for the extra feet added over years, my restaurant and my house would be under water. My heart goes out to those who were affected.
I am thankful to the Millennium Circle of the Luzerne Foundation for awarding “Dinners For Kids” a $20,000 grant that will enable us to serve 40 more needy children in our community. I am thankful to all the people and businesses who donated to our program so far and allowed us to feed 50 at-risk children. I am thankful to all the wonderful volunteers who didn’t miss a day in the last 8 months, packing and delivering the meals to the children’s homes. I am thankful to the members of our advisory board who helped make it all happen.

I am thankful for my family’s many blessings this year. My son got engaged and my grandson will be turning two shortly.

And of course, I am thankful to you, our loyal customers, who keep us in business. We are working very hard to not only provide excellent food and service, but also connect with our customers and our community.  In August we had a very successful promotion with scratch-off cards and a raffle to win a 52” HDTV. The winner is Virginia Novitski.

We are now starting a gift card promotion, which will run through Christmas. For every purchase of a $25 Ollie’s gift card, you will receive a $5 gift certificate for you and your family to enjoy.

I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.
